As we turn the page on the calendar, the team at Azalea Wealth Management is incredibly excited for what lies ahead. 2026 will mark our first full year since the company was founded, and we are ready to embrace it.
From the financial markets to the football terraces, it has been a busy start to the year. Here is a look at what is happening in the global economy and what the Azalea team has been up to in our local community.
While we all hope for a calm start to the year, the financial markets have had other ideas. We have witnessed a somewhat turbulent opening to 2026, with volatility returning to the headlines.
This is a timely reminder of how sporadic investment markets can be. Currently, markets are reacting sharply to ongoing geopolitical events – and those just look set to continue.
When global uncertainty rises, markets often twitch, leading to short-term fluctuations that can feel unsettling for investors.
However, at Azalea, we view this through a long-term lens. These recurrences are a natural part of the investment lifecycle.
Our role is to look past the immediate noise and focus on the fundamentals. By maintaining a diversified portfolio and sticking to a structured financial plan, we can weather these storms.
We are monitoring the situation closely to help your financial goals remain on track, regardless of the geopolitical climate.
Closer to home, we are immensely proud to announce that Azalea has joined Hartlepool United’s new business networking initiative - aptly named Monkey Business - as a Premium Partner.
Since launching in 2025, our intention has always been to play an active role in the local community, and supporting the town's football club is a huge part of that.
This partnership is particularly close to our hearts. Our Managing Director, Harrison Smith, is a former Pools academy player turned Sunday League player, while Operations Director Andrew Bowden is a lifelong fan and a regular face on the Mill House Terrace.
The timing could not be better, with the club fresh from announcing an exciting takeover by American Landon Smith.
Harrison said: “We had agreed to join before Christmas, and since then, the news of Landon Smith’s takeover has been announced. These are exciting times for the town, and it would be fantastic to see the club continue to develop both on and off the pitch.”
Andrew added: “Harrison and I are lifelong supporters, and we felt this package was the perfect opportunity to get involved with the club directly.
“As a new company making an impact in the town and surrounding areas, we hope this is the start of a long and lucrative relationship with the club and the other supporting businesses.”

If you are involved in the Hartlepool business scene, you are sure to be seeing more of Harrison over the next two years.
We are proud to confirm that Harrison has been re-elected to the Hartlepool Business Forum steering group for a second term.
He is hugely passionate about promoting local enterprise and connecting people, and he is keen to use this platform to drive growth and give something back to the area.
Harrison joins Chair Simon Corbett, along with previous members Gary Riches and Haani Hasnain, and welcomes new members Sarah Thorpe, Paul Fraser, Paul Lackenby and Matthew Pemrick to the group.
We have declared 2026 the year of networking outside of Hartlepool too! To celebrate our growth, we have committed to appearing in the next four issues of the area’s premier business publication, Tees Business.
Keep an eye out for the first issue in March, where we will be outlining our future plans and sharing the excitement of launching from our base at the Innovation Centre in Hartlepool.
Finally, we are delighted with the success of our very own networking concept - the Azalea Padel Club.
Hosted at Padel Up on Teesside, our monthly two-hour events have grown from eight to 12 players, with tickets selling out fast. It seems the sport gripping the nation has gripped our clients and friends too!
We intend to keep these sessions running as long as the demand is there. It is great for fitness, fantastic for networking and the perfect way to let your hair down.
Even Andrew has been bitten by the bug - Santa brought him a new racket for Christmas, and he is very excited to unleash it at our January meetup.
